Cikarang, Indonesia—Friday (20/10) President University (PresUniv) introduces its new established business incubator, SetSail BizAccel, which is located in Medical Science Center, Jababeka City, Cikarang. The event was attended by Rector of PresUniv, Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto, SE., M.M., M.A, Vice Rector for Academics, Ir. Dwi Larso, MSIE., Ph.D, Vice Rector for Communications and Partnerships, Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D, mentors of SetSail, such as Ex-COO and CMO of OLX, Alif Priyono, Director of SetSail BizAccel and School of Business lecturers, Adhi Setyo Santoso, and over 60 people including lecturers and students.
SetSail BizAccel gives a space for young generation to meet and build networks with the mentors and investors. The creation of ecosystem from these interactions will determine the entrepreneurial spirit of the young generation. “SetSail BizAccel is a new platform in PresUniv to facilitating students to be entrepreneurs after or even before graduation,” said Dwi Larso
Director of SetSail BizAccel, Adhi Setyo Santoso, gave an introduction of the foundation and strategies of the incubator. He also mentioned that the main purpose of this incubator is to create an entrepreneurship ecosystem to support students to build their own startup business. He stated that there are three ways to support the creation of the entrepreneurship ecosystem: which are the existance of co-working space, mentorship by businessmen, alumni, or local and international incubator, and also gaining investment.
Furthermore, Alif Priyono, shared his experience in the startup world. According to Alif, PresUniv already has the good environment to produce graduates who will become entrepreneurs, with supported by mentors, incubator, and the spirit of entrepreneurship of its students.
This event followed by sharing session and discussion on startup life after graduation with the alumni of PresUniv, Steven Gouw (Business Administration batch 2013 and now founder of RumahPorto, a recruiter company), and Dastin Dimaz (Business Administration batch 2013 and now Digital Marketing Associate at PT Audi Citra Lestari).
“Through SetSail, PresUniv can sharing and discuss business ideas, and transform into something real for the sake of beneficial value for community. The benefits can be commercial or social (socio-entrepreneurship). PresUniv, as an entrepreneur-spirited university with global perspective, commited to give maximum support for the creation of new startup from small, growing and developing, to advanced and big business. SetSail BizAccel is one of those commitments,” said Dwi Larso.
In this event, Faculty of Computer Science, PresUniv, also introduced Computing Atmosphere (Compsphere), an annual event which aims to introduce people with digital technology developments and its applications. The event that will be held on 14-15 November consists of competitions for high school students and university students, thesis exhibition from the Faculty of Computer Science, PresUniv, and seminar.(SL)
